We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our team and assist with day to day service work. We care about the success of our employees and offer an environment with room for professional growth and development.

About the role:

This position will be based in the eld and requires a candidate who has a current, valid drivers license, is a motivated team player, and takes an interest in learning. The ideal candidate posses a strong work ethic, is dependable, and has the ability to perform physical tasks such as digging trenches to lay conduit, moving and lifting heavy objects, and crawling through small spaces such as attics. Northstar Electric is seeking someone who enjoys taking initiative and can work intuitively to manage a variety of tasks, duties, and projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Prioritize requests and manage information effectively

Assist with the installation, repair, maintenance and testing of commercial and residential electrical systems

Use industry related hand tools and power tools, under supervision.

Assist the Journeyman Electrician with measuring, cutting, bending, threading, and installing wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems.

Assist the Journeyman Electrician with wires and cables within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switch gear, receptacles, switches, etc.

Work with a Journeyman Electrician to splice and terminate wires at junction points.

Clean, gather and transport materials to electricians on the construction site.

Communicate effectively with Foremen and crew members.

Maintain work low schedule to ensure productivity objectives are met.

Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers, and vendors.

Candidate requirements:

Self starter with a good attitude

Ability to lift up to 70lbs.

Fully squat, stoop or kneel while wearing a 25lb tool belt.

Maintain a standing position for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires.

Work off ladders, man lifts or reach booms.

Knowledge of electrical theory, basic circuits, branch circuits, and specialty systems.

Familiar with aspects of operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.

Basic knowledge of tools and equipment and how to safely use them.

Safety-focused mindset and approach to work

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to communicate technical details accurately and thoroughly.
